Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety sucks

When you struggle with anxiety, lots of things feel harder. You may struggle to get started on your to-do list or have a hard time finishing things. You may find yourself going down spirals of worries and what-ifs, which makes it hard to be present in your life and relationships. You may find yourself pre-occupied with what others think of you and worry that you’re not good enough.

Relief is possible

It doesn’t have to be this way. Anxiety is one of the most common and most treatable mental health issues out there. So, you are not alone! And there are time-tested strategies that, when practiced regularly, offer quick symptom relief. Learning a few of these tools is where we will start.

Once you’ve seen some improvement with your symptoms, and your day-to-day life is a bit easier, we can begin the work of understanding the underlying causes of your anxiety. Most of the time, folks find that there are some mental or emotional burdens they didn’t even know they were carrying. Things like “I’m not good enough” “It’s all up to me” or “There’s something wrong with me.” We will work together to discover and release these burdens and heal the emotional scrapes and bruises you’ve picked up along the way.

After this process, most people feel lighter, less rigid or perfectionistic, and more present in their lives and with their loved ones. They feel more connected to themselves and have a number of tools and practices to help them when they get into stressful situations on down the road.

Online Anxiety therapy

A lot of my work with clients takes place online. I started working this way during the pandemic and have found that it works just as well, and in some cases better, for clients as coming to see me in my office. Meeting online gives clients more flexibility to fit therapy into their busy lives without the time it takes to drive to my office. It also means I can see folks anywhere in the states of Tennessee and Florida. I find that most people are familiar with the concept of online meetings at this point, but if you have any questions about how it works, I’m happy to answer them!
